Ramblings of an exiled Bavarian

These are the flames of love! And those are the third-degree burns of passion!

Bio
In the halcyon days of yore (a time period which most other people stubbornly persist in referring to as 2001-2002) I was living in Bavaria and, being bored, used to spend an average of five hours per day on the net. For a long time I used an old 56k modem, which slightly dampened my enjoyment. But then came DSL, and it was good. I lived a life of true bliss, although I did not realise it at the time. The only dark spot on that shining beacon of happiness, which I now consider my life during the halcyon days of yore to be, as that my grades at school were dropping from their previously rather high position. In an amazing feat of non-laziness I realised that if I were to have a comfortable future, this situation could not be allowed to continue. Yet my academic aptitude continued to decay, as I lacked the willpower to turn my back on the web and the communities I participated in. Eventually I decided to move to an environment where such temptations were limited: I moved to the international college in Hove, UK, where I am now studying for my A-Levels in Physics, Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics. Update: After doing surprisingly well in my A-Level exams in June 2004, I went on to study for a BA degree in Japanese at SOAS, having decided on this subject after learning about the many uninteresting aspects involved in studying Chemistry. Now I have broadband in my room once more, but hopefully I will use it more wisely than before. Stay tuned for my attempts to work out a way to use my time most efficiently.

And now, for the hurried and/or vocabularitoriously challenged reader, a synopsis of the above: I had 24/7 web at home, and life was good. Then grades at school dropped. Moved to school in UK. There less web time, high grades, but life didst suck. Went on to do Jap tongue at small U in huge town. Got net back now. Will see how it goes.

How's that for monosyllabicity and avoiding sesquipedalianism?

Thank you for your attention.
